Busy Night in Chorley
 
On Thursday 23rd August following a relaxing summer recess Mick Matthews welcomed all the assembled members and guests to Lawrence Council meeting at Chorley.
After being welcomed by the W.M. the District Prefect Paul Snape thanked Mick for his welcome then settled back together with around forty Allied Masons for an enjoyable night of Allied Masonry.

Before any further business could be undertaken a surprise guest!! (and Member) demanded admission, yes, you've guessed it, it was the Grand Master Tom Jackson, who entered the Council to spontaneous applause.
First up, an Admission into the Degree of St. Lawrence the Martyr, the candidate Allan Scott, this ceremony was carried by Mick Matthews W.M. and his team of Officers.

Following that Ceremony, a Council of the Order of the Red Cross of Babylon was opened to allow the admission to this degree of six candidates Allan Scott, John MacKenzie, Roger Fielding, J. Edmund Barton, J. David Platt and Martin P. Roche.
The Ceremony was conducted by John Forster and Peter Schofield assisted by members of the Council, Peter Schofield also presented the Lecture.
Before the meeting closed the District Prefect Paul Snape congratulated and thanked everyone who had taken part in the Ceremony commenting on the excellence of their work, he also congratulated Edwin Schofield and Walter Porter, who at the October of Grand Council will receive a first appointment to the Rank of P.G.I.G.
In reply Mick Matthews thanked the District Grand Prefect for his generous comments inviting him together with the Grand Master and all present to join him for well earned refreshment and dinner.
